Meddendum: I forgot my passphrase

Tap “Forgot passphrase?” on the lock screen and enter the recovery key you saved when you set up your journal. Your journal is encrypted with a key only you hold. Without your passphrase or recovery key, no one can open it, including us.

TagTeam Plates: how do I delete our shared garage?

Email support@backshear.com with your 8-character garage code, and we’ll delete that garage’s records from the shared database. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.

Privacy

Every Backshear Studios app is built on the same rules: no ads, no analytics, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell or share your data. Each app’s details are below.

Meddendum

  • We collect nothing. There’s no account and no server of ours. Your journal is encrypted on your device.
  • Nothing leaves your device unless you choose it: optional iCloud sync (off by default, and it only carries the already-encrypted journal), or a backup or export you make yourself.
  • The one-time purchase goes through Apple. We see only the same anonymous sales totals every developer sees.

TagTeam Plates

  • No personal information. No sign-up, email address, password, phone number, advertising ID or location. We never build a profile of you.
  • On your phone: your plate sightings, the display name and colour you picked, and your settings. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • In our private database: so two phones can share one collection, each sighting is also stored in a database run by Backshear Studios LLC on Cloudflare. A record holds a state or province code, a timestamp, an optional short note you typed, and the display name of whoever logged it. Nothing else.
  • Location: TagTeam never asks for or receives your location. Distance stats come from a home state you pick from a list.
  • Notifications (optional, off by default): if you turn them on, we store the delivery address your phone’s operating system gives us. It’s deleted when you turn notifications off. The message is encrypted, so the push service can’t read it.
  • No analytics or tracking: no analytics library, crash reporter, ad network, cookies or fingerprinting. The app only talks to the TagTeam server.
  • Who can see your collection: anyone with your garage’s 8-character code. Treat it like a house key. You can change it anytime in Settings.
  • Children: suitable for all ages. No chat, and nothing visible to strangers.
  • Deleting your data: delete the app to clear your phone. To erase a shared garage from our database, email support@backshear.com with the garage code.
